About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Ridge & Partners LLP. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for delivering high-profile projects across various sectors, including blue-chip clients, sporting teams, automotive OEMs, research and development organizations, and academic research institutes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: Lead the delivery of project management services to clients across various sectors and project stages, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Health and Safety: Take a leadership role in the Health and Safety arrangements for projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams of internal and external design consultants, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members, ensuring effective communication and project expectations.
  • Business Development: Assist in the development of further business opportunities, identifying new clients and projects that align with the company's goals.
  • Project Coordination: Establish detailed client briefs, responsibilities of consultants and specialists, and lines of communication and reporting procedures.
  • Site Management: Arrange feasibility studies, site surveys, site investigations, and site evaluations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Team Selection: Advise on and implement the selection and appointment of all necessary consultants and specialists.
  • Statutory Consents: Assist clients in obtaining statutory consents, including planning consents and necessary approvals.
  • Project Monitoring: Prepare and maintain master programs for all pre- and post-contract activities, monitor progress, and recommend payments to clients.
  • Financial Management: Manage finances from inception to completion, including cash flow forecasts, monitoring project expenditure, and recommending payments to clients.
  • Design Team Leadership: Lead and manage the Design team, including leading on risk and value management.
  • Contractor Selection: Interview and select contractors for tendering or negotiation, evaluate tenders received, and appoint contractors.
  • Site Visits: Visit sites and monitor construction works, ensuring quality and conformity to agreed specifications and drawings.
  • Contract Administration: Administer building contracts, including the preparation of necessary instructions and certificates.
  • Project Meetings: Chair progress, coordination, and project meetings throughout the contract period.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports to clients on all aspects of the project, including inspection, scheduling, and acceptance of works.
Requirements
  • Experience: Extensive consultancy design development and construction project management experience.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead successful delivery of often more than one project and manage client relationships, including business development.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of MS Office and MS Project (or alternative scheduling software).
  • Education: A degree or equivalent and working towards accreditation under a professional body.

You need to show ambition and a willingness to work flexibly, both in the office and on-site, whilst demonstrating commercial awareness and exhibiting the ability to lead teams to complete the projects to agreed timelines.
