SAP Archiving Consultant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled SAP Archiving Consultant to design, implement, and maintain SAP archiving solutions that improve system performance, ensure compliance, and manage data growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and implement SAP archiving solutions across various SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, SD, MM, PP) to optimize system performance and ensure compliance.
  2. Develop and execute data archiving strategies in accordance with legal and business requirements to manage data growth and ensure data retention.
  3. Monitor and optimize archiving processes to ensure efficiency and compliance, and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for SAP archiving processes.
  4. Work with cross-functional teams to identify archiving opportunities and manage data growth, and collaborate with BASIS, Security, and SAP Functional teams to ensure seamless integration of archiving solutions.
  5. Perform system analysis and recommend improvements in SAP system performance through data management strategies, and ensure compliance with data retention policies, legal standards, and audit requirements.
  6. Document all archiving processes, procedures, and configurations for future reference, and train end-users and internal teams on archiving processes and best practices.
Key Requirements:
  1. Experience:
    1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in SAP data archiving, with hands-on experience in archiving SAP data within different modules (e.g., FI, CO, MM, SD, etc.).
    2. Experience in data retention policies, compliance, and audit requirements related to data archiving.
  2. Technical Skills:
    1. Strong expertise in SAP Data Archiving technology (e.g., SARA, ArchiveLink, ILM), and knowledge of SAP HANA and its impact on data archiving.
    2. Familiarity with performance tuning in SAP environments, and experience in managing large datasets and archiving SAP tables to improve system performance.
  3. Soft Skills:
    1. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex SAP archiving issues.
    2. Attention to detail and the ability to document processes meticulously, and ability to manage time and tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills:

  1. Experience with SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management), and knowledge of GDPR or other data protection regulations.
  2. Experience with SAP HANA archiving and optimization, and project management experience in SAP data archiving projects.
