Head of Kitchen Operations

The post of Team Leader Chef is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of culinary expertise and leadership skills. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.
Main Responsibilities- Organize and oversee the preparation and cooking of meals for large numbers of customers, including special diets and function work.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Maintain accurate records of food safety procedures and ensure that all staff are aware of their responsibilities in this area.
- Manage staff rotas and ensure that all kitchen staff are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
- Assist with the planning and costing of menus, and ensure that all food is stored and handled in accordance with food safety guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen, including the proper use of equipment and the disposal of waste.
- Provide leadership and guidance to kitchen staff, and ensure that they are motivated and empowered to perform their duties to the highest standard.
- Assist with the resolution of customer complaints and feedback, and ensure that all issues are addressed promptly and professionally.

Person Specification- Significant experience in a similar environment, with a proven track record of leadership and culinary expertise.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards of quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.
- Good level of education, including a recognized supervisory qualification and Level 3 Food Hygiene certification.
- Relevant chef qualification (NVQ 3) or equivalent, and a good command of spoken and written English.
