Key Responsibilities- Lesson Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver tailored maths lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with the school's SEND department and other professionals to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Teaching Strategies and Resources: Utilise a range of teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to engage and support students in their learning.
- Behaviour Management: Employ effective behaviour management techniques and create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active participation and respect.
- Assessment and Progress Tracking: Assess and track student progress through ongoing observation, formative assessments, and individualised targets, providing feedback and support for improvement.
- Communication with Parents and Colleagues: Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians, other teachers, and support staff regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for development.
- Experience and Qualifications: Proven experience as a SEND Teacher, preferably in a similar temporary capacity, with a strong understanding of different special educational needs and disabilities.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in SEND education, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Organisational and Time Management Skills: Strong organisational skills to manage and document individual student progress, assessments, and interventions.
- Patience and Empathy: Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to support students' social and emotional development.
