About the Role

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People is seeking a qualified and experienced Band 6 Deputy Lead Nurse to join our dedicated care team. As a Deputy Lead Nurse, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and supporting the Lead Nurse in their role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions
  • Lead a small team of staff and identify training and development needs through the appraisal process
  • Support the Lead Nurse and Head of Hospice and Community Services in their roles and promote the vision, mission, and values of the Hospice
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care of children and young people in partnership with them and their parents/guardians
  • Provide excellent short break, palliative, and end-of-life care at Rainbows in a family-centered environment
Requirements
  • Qualified RSCN/RN (Child Branch)/RNLD/RGN with at least 3 years post-registration experience
  • Experience with children and/or young people (0-25 years) with complex needs
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to demonstrate high standards of clinical care
