About the Role

Mitchell Maguire is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineering Design Technician to join our team. As a Design Technician, you will be responsible for working closely with our Area Engineers and Sales Team to provide technical support and design solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reading drawings, quantifying materials, and preparing outline quotes for civil engineering projects
  • Generating technical proposals, construction drawings, and bespoke details using AutoCAD design software
  • Working closely with the Area Engineers and Sales Team to respond to incoming phone calls and generate quotes
  • Undertaking engineering designs and design proposals using AutoCAD design software
  • Participating in the creation of technical tools and presentations, and assisting the technical teams on site visits and technical presentations
  • Providing technical support to the operations of the construction teams
  • Working closely with Area Engineers to promote geotechnical engineering systems
  • Working on projects ranging in value up to circa £1,000,000
Requirements
  • Technician experience in Civil Engineering with a strong understanding of AutoCAD and civil engineering products
  • Ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of a range of civil engineering products, including reinforced soil walls, geomembranes, erosion control, drainage geocomposites, and geogrids
  • Will consider Architectural Technicians, Mechanical Engineering, CAD Designer, Design Engineer, and Design Technicians with a willingness to learn and adapt to our products and software
  • Accurate and detail-focused with a positive approach to customer service and client support
  • HND/HNC/degree in a related industry would be highly advantageous
