We are seeking a highly skilled Civils CAD Technician to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and issuing design drawings for highways, drainage, and infrastructure projects using AutoCAD and Civils 3D software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review design drawings for highways, drainage, and infrastructure projects.
  • Provide technical support to the design team and other members of the professional team.
  • Liaise with clients, Local Authorities, and contractors to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Conduct site inspections and surveys, and prepare reports on project progress.
  • Train and guide junior staff in technical matters.
  • Manage small projects or elements of projects as appropriate.
  • Conduct quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Requirements
  • Hold an appropriate engineering or CAD qualification.
  • Considerable experience working in a civil engineering design consultancy.
  • Technical and computing ability to produce horizontal and vertical highways design and civil engineering design using appropriate software.
  • Strong self-motivation and initiative to work largely unsupervised.
  • Familiarity of highway planning procedures, including Section 38/278 Agreements, UK design principles, and standards.
  • Knowledge of procedures relating to TROs and Road Safety Audits.
  • Familiarity of drainage adoption procedures, including Section 106/104, UK Design principles, and standards.
  • Experience of dealing with clients and other members of the professional team using strong communication skills.
  • Good financial and commercial awareness.
  • An ability to follow instruction and work collaboratively as part of a team.
