Tandoori Culinary Specialist

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Tandoori Chef to join our culinary team at The George Hotel. As a Head Tandoor Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking traditional tandoori dishes with precision and consistency. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise to a dynamic kitchen environment where you can showcase your skills and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook a variety of tandoori dishes such as naan, kebabs, tandoori chicken, and other traditional Indian specialties with precision and consistency.
• Operate and maintain the tandoor oven, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and optimal cooking conditions.
• Season and marinate meats, vegetables, and seafood with precision to deliver consistent flavors and quality.
• Plan and execute a diverse menu that aligns with the restaurant's standards and customer preferences.
• Monitor food inventory levels and assist in the procurement of spices, ingredients, and other supplies.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to introduce innovative dishes while maintaining authenticity.
• Train and mentor junior staff members in tandoori cooking techniques and kitchen practices.
Requirements:
To be successful as a Tandoor Chef, you should have:
• Proven experience as a Tandoor Chef in a professional kitchen.
• In-depth knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques, especially with tandoori equipment and ingredients.
• Ability to manage multiple dishes simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Passion for Indian cuisine and a commitment to quality.
