Medical Devices Safety Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Devices Safety Officer to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Clinical Procurement team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our medical devices.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and coordinate medical devices safety and management across the Trust.
- Act as the main contact for NHS England, the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA), and manufacturers of medical devices.
- Provide assurance that the Trust is compliant with current relevant statutory, mandatory, regulatory, and best working practice requirements.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including NHS England and the MHRA, to ensure effective medical device safety and management.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including Medical Engineering and Patient Safety/Governance teams.
- Education to degree level or equivalent.
- Experience in clinical or medical engineering background.
- Clinical/Nursing or healthcare science professional qualification.
- Well-developed IT skills, including Office suite, email, internet, and specialist software systems.
- Experience in analysing, compiling, and writing reports.
- Ability to interpret new guidance and legislation and disseminate key facts and information.
- Proven track record of successful working with different staff groups.
