Teaching Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in Whitworth, Rochdale. The successful candidate will work closely with the Class Teacher and other professionals to enhance children's learning and development.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to all children, including those with additional needs, in a nurturing and calm approach.
  • Communicate with families/carers to provide feedback about children's progress.
  • Deliver small intervention groups and Phonics sessions for Key Stage 1 students.
  • Assist with classroom management and use good behaviour management strategies.
  • Help to create a safe, fun, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Commit to the wider life of the school and the community.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
  • A good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • Experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, but the option to make it permanent may become available at a later date.
