About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cleaning Operative to join our Facilities Management team at The City of Edinburgh Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality cleaning service across our estate, ensuring our properties are safe and clean places to work or learn in.

Key Responsibilities
  • Empty litter and recycling bins
  • Clean all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures, and fittings within a group of buildings
  • Clean all sanitary areas, toilets, and showers, and replenish washroom consumables
  • Perform emergency and reactive cleaning as required, including removal of graffiti, body fluid spillages, and accidental spillages
  • Care for and clean all equipment used in carrying out the above duties
  • Support cleaning tasks across other buildings as required
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
