About Us

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate is an Executive Agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and efficacy of veterinary medicines in the UK.

As a Pharmacovigilance Assessor within the Pharmacovigilance Team, you will be working closely with the team to monitor reports of suspected adverse events and lack of efficacy following use of veterinary medicinal products.

Your Role:

You will be responsible for maintaining an in-depth practical understanding of factors affecting the safety of medicines, including work in medicinal product development or regulatory affairs for a pharmaceutical company. You will also be contributing to the VMD's aims and objectives by monitoring reports of suspected adverse events and lack of efficacy.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree as a Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Nursing qualification, or a Scientific Degree.
  • Membership of MRCVS for Vet Surgeons and Vet Nurses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
