Job Summary
The Fermentation Operator III will work under the supervision of the Fermentation Departmental Superintendent to perform various duties in an industrial environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating chemical processing equipment, monitoring production, and ensuring safe and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate chemical processing equipment, including pumps, valves, agitators, and pressure vessels, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing.
- Interpret laboratory data and make necessary adjustments to operate within established parameters.
- Read work orders, Standard Operating Procedures, and guidelines to determine production specifications and information.
- Determine chemical amounts using basic mathematics for making up tanks.
- Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas, using moving equipment and hand tools as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Ability to read, write, and schedule.
- Computer literacy, including keyboarding and mouse use.
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to drive a forklift.
- Ability to work at high heights.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
