Ganymede Solutions is working with a leading principal contractor to find an experienced Environmental Advisor to join their team in the London region.

The Role

As an Environmental Advisor, you will be responsible for understanding and determining the environmental deliverables of projects, ensuring their integration into pre-contract, design, planning, construction, commissioning, and hand-back arrangements.

You will work on high-profile projects across the UK, covering various industry sectors including Highways, Rail, Aviation, Energy, Healthcare, and Retail.

About the Job

You will provide specialist environmental support to project delivery teams, leading inspections, audits, and other assurance activities. You will identify trends and recommend preventative measures to address non-conformances and opportunities for improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing, and assuring project-specific environmental management plans, focusing on noise and vibration, biodiversity, carbon, waste, and pollution prevention.
  • Determining the need for, application of, and compliance with environmental consents, including liaising with regulatory authorities and clients.
  • Working knowledge of environmental and social contract requirements, standards, and guidance, as well as detailed knowledge of UK environmental legislation.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A highly motivated and proactive approach to ensure deadlines are met.
  • An environment or science-related degree or equivalent.
  • Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
  • The ability to produce contract statistical environmental information and undertake environmental audits.
What We Offer

Depending on qualifications and experience, a salary of up to £45,000 per annum is on offer, plus a company car/allowance, professional membership subscription, 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, and a matched pension scheme of 5%.
