Job Title: Occupational Therapist (Adults)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Care Managers. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to adults, focusing on prevention and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and implement interventions to prevent the escalation of needs and maintain independence.
  • Recommend and provide equipment and housing adaptations to support adults in their daily lives.
  • Work therapeutically with adults to address problems and promote independence.

Major Tasks:

  • Manage a caseload and conduct assessments, including complex cases and housing adaptations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, develop care plans, and collaborate with families and partner agencies.
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions to delay or reduce needs.
  • Participate in group meetings, support professional development, and contribute to training.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to unqualified workers.
  • Ensure quality and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Engage in preventative work and support informed decision-making by adults, families, and carers.
  • Maintain case notes, write reports, and promote equality and safety in all tasks.
  • Stay updated on occupational therapy issues, legislation, and evidence-based practices.

Requirements:

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Commitment to professional development as per HCPC guidelines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in adult and older people's occupational therapy, including assessment, prevention, and intervention.
  • Decision-making skills in care issues involving diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act.
  • Understanding of current government policies and legislation on housing for adults and older people.
