Job Overview

  • Manage and lead a team of trade operatives, providing clear direction, support, and performance management to ensure seamless delivery of repair services.
  • Monitor and control budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources without compromising on quality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets required standards and health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all stakeholders.
  • Liaise with residents, contractors, and other stakeholders to address and resolve repair issues promptly and professionally, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the social housing sector, with a strong understanding of repair operations and maintenance management.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience managing trade operatives and a proven track record of team performance improvement.
  • Excellent knowledge of building maintenance and repair practices, including health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of repair services.
  • Proficient in using IT systems and software related to repairs and maintenance management, with a strong understanding of data analysis and reporting.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, building maintenance, or a related field (desirable), with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development.
