Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist secondary school for pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), Autism (ASD), and complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist pupils with PMLD and complex needs in a secondary age group setting
  • Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and providing individualized support to pupils
  • Develop and implement strategies to support pupils with limited communication skills
  • Work collaboratively with the school team to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience supporting pupils with PMLD
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience as a Teaching Assistant
  • Good command of numeracy and literacy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
