Job Title: Lead Geophysical Survey Engineer

Fugro is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Geophysical Survey Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our offshore survey operations, you will be responsible for providing technical support and leadership to our geophysical survey teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the setup, operation, and maintenance of geophysical survey equipment, including sensors and acquisition systems.
  • Monitor data quality and ensure that survey specifications are met.
  • Review and amend Integrated Management System (IMS) documents to improve working practices and ensure compliance.
  • Prepare reports, including equipment damage/fault reports, and develop expertise with acquisition systems and survey techniques.
  • Implement and review Planned Maintenance Systems and maintain equipment inventory and consumables.
  • Ensure the integrity and functionality of acquisition sensors throughout the project and report any deficiencies.
  • Assist the Party Chief in implementing initiatives and campaigns at the worksite or within the organisation.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in electronics/mechanical engineering in an offshore survey role.
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating commonly used survey sensors, including Side Scan Sonar, Sub Bottom Profilers, Seismic Recording Systems, and AUVs.
  • Good understanding of computer system hardware and networks, with experience in fault finding and reporting.
  • Computer literacy, including networking, is required.
  • Experience in implementing preventative maintenance systems to ensure the integrity and functionality of acquisition sensors.
  • Solid understanding of geophysical survey principles of data acquisition and data QC.
  • Disciplined, self-motivated, and a flexible team player with excellent communication skills.
