Job Opportunity

Fugro-Geoteam AS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Geophysical Survey Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our offshore survey operations, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our geophysical survey projects.

The Role

As the Lead Geophysical Survey Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support for all geophysical survey operations, including the setup, interfacing, testing, maintenance, calibration, and operation of acquisition sensors. You will also be responsible for monitoring data quality to ensure survey specifications are met, reviewing and amending Integrated Management System (IMS) documents, and developing and maintaining expertise with acquisition systems and survey techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for all geophysical survey operations
  • Monitor data quality to ensure survey specifications are met
  • Review and amend IMS documents to improve working practices
  • Develop and maintain expertise with acquisition systems and survey techniques
  • Implement and review Planned Maintenance Systems

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have extensive experience in electronics/mechanical engineering in an offshore survey role, with a strong understanding of computer system hardware and networks. You should also be proficient in setting up and operating commonly used survey sensors, such as Side Scan Sonar, Sub Bottom Profilers, Seismic Recording Systems, and AUVs. Additionally, you should have good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work flexible hours and travel when required.
