Job Overview

We are seeking a Strategic Business Development Actuary to join our Capital Insight & Actuarial department. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with Origination, Investment, and Risk departments to drive improvements in systems, processes, and technology. Your role will entail applying knowledge and insights to pricing and onboarding new BPA deals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analysis of Matching Adjustment eligibility for new schemes written by Origination, supporting deal teams in structuring deals to ensure MA compliance.
  • Understand cashflow matching of the MA Fund, contributing to ongoing monitoring against PIC's MA Approach Document and regulatory requirements.
  • Support analysis of new trades and transfers to/from the MA fund, as well as hedging and risk management activities.
  • Take ownership of learning and development in technical and non-technical skills, including data analysis, critical judgement, self-insight, and relationship management.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes by attending seminars, reading articles, and sharing knowledge.
Requirements
  • Experience working in pensions or life insurance.
  • Established knowledge of actuarial techniques, including modelling, analysis, and investigation.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Commercial judgement and ability to organize work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, using consultative questioning to challenge norms and drive change.
  • Effective communication skills, engaging others within the business function and internal stakeholders.

In addition to a competitive base salary (£65,000 - £90,000), you will receive private medical insurance, 28 days' annual leave, a generous pension scheme, and more. Our performance-related bonus plan offers opportunities for growth and development.
