Job Title: Childcare Attorney

The London Borough of Lewisham is seeking a qualified attorney to join their dynamic Legal Team as a Childcare Attorney. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled lawyer to work with a supportive and sociable team, handling a demanding caseload of mainly child protection cases. The role can be worked on a hybrid working basis, with the expected candidate attending the office in Catford twice a week.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Deputise for Senior Social Care Lawyers
  • Handling a busy caseload of mainly child protection cases, with the opportunity to undertake advocacy in the Central Family Court
  • Advising Social Services clients on all aspects of relevant legislation
  • Prepare legal documentation relevant to the caseload, and assist Senior Social Care Lawyers and Principal Lawyer in relation to complex or specialised matters


Requirements:
  • Qualified lawyer with at least 3 years PQE (Barrister, Solicitor or CILEx)
  • Current practising certificate
