As an Archaeological Field Specialist at Wardell Armstrong, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy with offices throughout the UK.

We have been providing expert archaeological and heritage services for over 25 years, employing approximately 500 staff. Our Archaeology team is based in six of our UK offices, with largest centres in Bury St Edmunds and Carlisle featuring purpose-built facilities for post-excavation services and fieldwork operations.

The ideal candidate should have some practical experience of working on archaeological sites, a degree in archaeology or equivalent experience, and a driving license. CIfA membership at PCIfA level is desirable but not essential.

You will work as part of our wider team, and you could be based on a variety of sites including large scale evaluations and excavations. The work may also include working on geophysics projects if you have experience or are willing to learn.

The salary for this position is estimated at £28,000 - £35,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

We offer an excellent subsistence package, travel allowance, single occupancy accommodation, and 1.5x pay/TOIL for work carried out during unsocial hours (10pm – 6am).
