Children and Young People Support Worker

The role of a Children and Young People Support Worker at Olive Branch Fostering involves providing essential support to foster households and children in placement, as outlined in the Placement Plan.
As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Supervising Social Worker and Area Manager to enhance placement stability and build positive relationships with children and fostering households.
Specifically, your responsibilities will include providing one-to-one support to children, offering necessary respite for carers, and contributing to planning activity days for foster carer families and children.
You will also be required to attend and participate in events aimed at recruiting prospective foster carers and complete initial visits to households expressing an interest in fostering.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be willing to work flexible hours, including non-office hours and at weekends, and hold a full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Furthermore, you will need to be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check and have experience within child care, specifically with children who have additional needs, including ASD and GDD.
Additional requirements include an understanding of challenging behaviours and trauma, as well as a good understanding of the needs of looked-after children.
