Role Overview

The General Liability Insurance team at RPC is seeking a skilled lawyer to join our team in Bristol. As part of our Insurance Group, we have a well-established client base, acting for leading liability insurers in the provision of their employers, public, and products liability services to insured businesses.

The role will primarily involve dealing with personal injury claims arising from these policies, with opportunities to become involved in associated regulatory matters such as health and safety investigations/prosecutions and inquests. You will also have the chance to work on product regulation.

The General Liability Insurance team spans London and Bristol, linked with our Medical and Life Sciences team. Our team consists of 4 Partners, 3 Senior Associates, and 4 Associates.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a vibrant and growing team. The work will be varied, interesting, and challenging, with the potential for autonomy and business development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist with the management of fast track, intermediate, and multi-track personal injury claims.
  • Advise on all legal aspects related to claims, including coverage.
  • Manage a caseload of claims.
  • Deliver high-quality and timely output to clients, ensuring high levels of client service and alignment with agreed working practices and client service level agreements.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the team's service, support, processes, and procedures.
  • You will have the opportunity to attend client events and/or travel, primarily to London.

Requirements

  • Legal Executive or Solicitor NQ+
  • Good grounding in handling personal injury claims and fast track litigation.
  • Experience or interest in gaining experience in Product Law and Health & Safety.
  • Good knowledge of legal procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage client relationships and deliver trusted relationships.
  • High level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Able to adapt to shifting priorities and adapt plans accordingly.
  • Committed to being part of a supportive, inclusive, and collaborative firm culture.
  • Works efficiently and commercially and understands the importance of financial hygiene.
  • Committed to business development to further grow the practice.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
