Job Title: Butler

At SignatureStaff, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Butler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing exceptional service to guests and families in a private household or 5-star hotel setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet and greet guests, and attend to their needs with a high level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Answer the telephone and respond to inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Assist in the care and inventory of silver, glassware, and china, ensuring that all items are properly stored and maintained.
  • Assist in the care and inventory of the wine cellar, including wine storage and serving.
  • Serve at the table on a daily basis, demonstrating knowledge of silver and butler service.
  • Pour and serve wine correctly, with a good knowledge of wine and its pairing with food.
  • Serve all food and beverages throughout the house, ensuring that guests' needs are met promptly and efficiently.
  • Work at larger events, assisting in the training of additional waiting staff and ensuring that all guests receive exceptional service.
  • Move furniture when required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing situations.
  • Assist the Kitchen Porter in washing silver, glass, and china when required, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a private household or 5-star hotel setting.
  • Comfortable with flexible working hours and inconsistent shift patterns.
  • Ability to obtain an enhanced DBS (paid for/organized by the client).

Accommodation is offered in a separate 7-bedroom ensuite house with shared kitchen and living areas.
