We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance team at Heidelberg Materials. As a Mechanical Fitter, your role involves conducting repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including welding and fabricating, to ensure the efficient operation of our cement manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines to maintain a secure work environment
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and perform necessary repairs
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot faults effectively
  • Weld and fabricate equipment for maintenance and improvement
  • Install, test, and commission equipment
  • Optimize maintenance schedules and minimize production disruption
  • Complete maintenance work orders and document work
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining machinery in the Cement Plant
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for machinery efficiency
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Qualification in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Previous experience in a similar role in manufacturing
  • Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting and welding/fabricating
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts
