As a professional interpreter, you will be responsible for providing high-quality interpreting services to non-English speakers, ensuring that they have access to essential services and information. Your role will involve listening to, understanding, and reproducing speech in the target language with 100% accuracy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services
- Checking the non-English speaker's understanding after each sentence
- Conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
- Dealing with highly confidential information
- Liaising between the service user and service provider
Requirements:
- Fluent in English and another language
- All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
- You must be aged 21 or over
- Formal qualifications such as Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered, or Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
