About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Residential Deputy Manager to join our team at Conwy County Borough Council. As a key member of our Children's Residential Care service, you will be responsible for leading the management and development of a Multi-Disciplinary Therapeutic team, ensuring that children receive the highest standard of care and support.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to progress their career in children's residential care, with a salary of £36,124-£38,626 per annum.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To work collaboratively with the Residential Manager to ensure that children, young people receiving short breaks and assessments in Conwy receive the appropriate levels and standards of care and support.
  2. To develop and implement innovative practice opportunities to maximise the skills and resilience of the staff, in the delivery of a bespoke therapeutic service enabling children and young people to make sense of their world and their day-to-day experiences.
  3. To provide workforce development support to staff, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements
  • A QCF Level 4 Professional Practice in Health and Social Care, Social Work or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a children's residential setting and substantial experience of working with children/families in a planned way.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage challenging situations and to support the staff team to explore innovative strategies in dealing with emotional dysregulation.
