Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our HSCP Family Placement Team at West Dunbartonshire Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of social workers, undertaking assessments, and supporting the management of the Adoption Panel. They will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be solution-focused, and able to work autonomously as part of a team.

The position involves working closely with the manager of the Fostering Service, colleagues across childcare services, and liaising with multiple agencies such as Health, Police, and Education. This is a registered service, and the successful candidate will become the registered manager for our Adoption Service.

The ideal candidate will have a knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in relation to adoption and aspire to drive forward and develop the adoption service. They will also be committed to The Promise, ensuring that children's voices and views are represented within the service.

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children & Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, and membership with the PVG scheme is essential. The preferred applicant will be required to become a member of the relevant PVG scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made.
