About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Site Chemist to join our team. As a Site Chemist, you'll play a critical role in assessing hazardous wastes, ensuring compliance with site requirements, and implementing effective waste management strategies. You'll work closely with our site operatives to ensure that waste is processed, stored, and transferred safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessing hazardous wastes at arrival on site, individually and as part of a team
  • Awareness of site budget and expenditure by cost-effective routing of wastes
  • Ensuring site compliance requirements are met
  • Implementing strict health and safety measures
  • Working alongside site operatives to ensure safe and efficient waste processing
  • Assisting with the control of material flows through the site
  • Bulking/re-packing of waste to achieve maximum profitability
  • Supporting other site staff to ensure efficient and collaborative working

Requirements

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Site Chemist with:

Minimum HND in Chemistry or similar qualification with significant chemistry contentIndustrial experience preferred in the chemical or waste industrySupervisory or leadership experience beneficialGood organisational and influencing skills
