McDonald's is seeking a talented Network Infrastructure Consultant to join our newly formed New Site Opening and Infrastructure team. This exciting opportunity will involve improving the value of IT infrastructure and network services across our UK&I business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Direction: Provide technical direction on forward network strategies and best practices.
  • Problem Ownership: Own infrastructure and/or network production problems, collaborating with technical teams to troubleshoot and provide a resolution.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our global risk and infrastructure teams on UK&I alignment to global strategies.
  • Vendor Management: Work closely with our UK&I vendors to implement new infrastructure or network solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement:

Implement continuous improvement projects with our partners to support the infrastructure of new site openings (e.g. Starlink network capability, 5G infrastructure).

Custodian: Custodian of day-to-day network control and compliance processes.Monitoring and Observability: Identify, evaluate, and recommend service monitoring tools and diagnostic techniques to improve system observability.Cyber Security: Work closely with Technology Cyber Security to support overall market technology risk reduction.Reporting and Analytics: Produce reports and presentations to drive greater MI analytics, supporting improved decision making across the Technology team.Vendor Point of Contact: McDonald's Network point of contact for all appropriate vendors on infrastructure queries.Team Development: Train, coach and mentor Site Reliability Engineers ensuring that the team have maintained and relevant career development plans.Forward Planning: Support the NSO and Infrastructure Manager on developing forward plans, strategies and roadmaps.

Requirements
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience in similar infrastructure or network roles.
  • Networking Expertise: Proven experience in Cisco/Networking.
  • Qualifications: Appropriate network qualifications based on experience levels.
  • Vendor Experience: Experience of working with multiple vendors who focus on infrastructure services (critical).
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. ).
  • Configuration Management: Experience with configuration management systems (e.g. ).
  • Continuous Integration/Deployment: Experience working with continuous integration/continuous deployment tools (e.g. ).
  • CSI Process: Experienced in Continual Service Improvement (CSI) process and application.
  • Desirable Skills: ITIL Problem Management qualification desirable and strong analytical skills (preferable, not mandatory).
