Environmental Sustainability Manager

Deploy UK Rail is seeking an experienced Environmental and Sustainability Manager to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's environmental and sustainability goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide environmental advice to the SHEQ and project management teams operating across the UK.
- Develop and review Environmental and Sustainability Management Plans (ESMPs), Site Waste Management Plans (SWMPs), and other environmental documentation.
- Ensure company compliance with Network Rail standards and regulations.
- Report to directors on environmental matters, including carbon reduction and innovation.
- Identify areas of innovation and best practice, record these in case studies.
- Develop an assurance program, covering audits and self-assessments.
- Act as the point of contact between regulatory bodies and consultants.
- Create and deliver environmental training programs.
- Conduct site inspections and record findings.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on targets, objectives, inspection, and audit findings, near misses, incidents, complaints, and carbon reduction.
- Perform risk assessments to ensure environmental risks are identified, communicated, recorded, and dealt with.
- Background as an Environmental and Sustainability Manager or Environmental Manager within the rail, engineering, or construction industries.
- Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation and Network Rail standards.
- Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
