Head of Environmental Sustainability

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned professional to lead our environmental and sustainability efforts at Deploy UK Rail, a leading name in the railway electrification sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant legislation governing environmental and sustainability.
- Develop and implement effective environmental and sustainability management systems.
- Lead and mentor a team of environmental and sustainability professionals, providing guidance and support.
- Collaborate with teams to produce environmental management plans and other related documentation.
- Review environmental requirements in work package plans and ensure timely consent applications.
- Provide guidance on environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Develop and deliver environmental training programs, including toolbox talks and specialized courses.
- Liaise with specialist consultants on ecology and other environmental matters.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in environmental and sustainability management, preferably in the rail, engineering, or construction sectors.
- Strong understanding of relevant UK legislation and regulations.
- Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
