About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled 3C Engineer to join our team at Playground Games, a first-party Xbox Game Studio. As a 3C Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering foundational Character, Camera, and Controls systems, working closely with Game Design and Animation to plan and deliver new features.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement efficient and performant 3C systems, including testing tools to avoid regressions.
  • Collaborate with production to ensure the delivery of planned features within specified times.
  • Work within a large multi-disciplined team, collaborating with Animation Engineering, Gameplay Animation, and Game Design.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of engineering experience, with professional 3Cs or Gameplay experience and demonstrable work on at least one published title (ideally AAA).
  • Understanding of core 3C concepts, such as animation networks, state machines, game design, camera behaviors, character movement systems, or controls accessibility.
  • Excellent knowledge of C++ and strong 3D math skills, with emphasis on linear algebra and vector math.
  • Great task planning and delivery mindset, with a genuine passion for video games and engineering.
