3C Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled 3C Engineer to join our team at Playground Games, a first-party Xbox Game Studio. As a 3C Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering foundational Character, Camera, and Controls systems, working closely with Game Design and Animation to plan and deliver new features.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement efficient and performant 3C systems, including character movement systems, camera behaviors, and controls accessibility.
• Collaborate with the 3C team to build and polish Character, Camera, and Control systems.
• Work with Animation Engineering, Gameplay Animation, and Game Design to ensure seamless integration of 3C systems.
• Develop testing tools to avoid regressions and ensure high-quality delivery of features.

Requirements:

• 3 years of engineering experience, with a strong background in C++ and mathematics.
• Understanding of core 3C concepts, such as animation networks, state machines, game design, and camera behaviors.
• Excellent knowledge of 3D math, with a focus on linear algebra and vector math.
• Strong task planning and delivery mindset, with a passion for video games and engineering.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a large, multi-disciplined team.
