Job Title: Qualified Social Worker - Children Looked After

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Social Worker - Children Looked After to join our team in Bath and North East Somerset Council. As a key member of our Children's Services team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children and families in need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pathway Planning: Develop and implement effective plans to support children and families in achieving their goals.
  • Attending Adoption Panels: Represent the council at adoption panels and contribute to decision-making processes.
  • Standard Case Management: Manage a caseload of children and families, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
  • LAC Reviews: Conduct regular reviews of children in care, ensuring their needs are met and their progress is monitored.
  • Section 20 care orders: Work with families to establish and maintain care orders, ensuring the best interests of the child are prioritized.
  • Attending Court: Represent the council in court proceedings, providing expert testimony and advocating for the best interests of the child.
  • Court Reports: Prepare and submit reports to the court, providing detailed information about the child's circumstances and needs.
Requirements:
  • HCPC Registration: Hold current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Post-qualifying experience: Possess at least 1-2 years of post-qualifying experience working as a Qualified Social Worker - Children Looked After Team within the UK Social Care industry.
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB: Hold an enhanced DBS/CRB certificate, or be willing to undergo the registration process.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK: Be eligible to work in the UK without restriction.
