About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Haematologist to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Haematologist, you will be responsible for leading our General Haematology clinics, reviewing inpatient admissions, and participating in our weekly sector multi-disciplinary team meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead three General Haematology clinics per week
  • Review Haematology inpatient admissions
  • Participate in weekly sector multi-disciplinary team meetings
  • Undertake laboratory work, including advice on diagnostic samples, validation, and interpretation of results
  • Participate in the diagnosis and management of individual patients through liaison with patients, clinicians, and other hospital and community staff

  • MRCP or equivalent
  • GMC with full licence to practice or eligible within six months of interview
  • FRCPath or equivalent
