About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to drive this transformation as our Chief Digital Technology Officer (CDTO). This role will be pivotal in shaping the future of UKHO, leading our 200-strong digital & technology division, championing innovation, driving digital strategy, and ensuring we remain at the cutting edge of maritime geospatial data services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead service transformation that fundamentally influences the operational dynamics of an organisation, enhancing our digital services and fostering a culture of innovation.
  • Apply new technology to operational processes and new product development, especially digital data products and services, for customer benefit.
  • Work at or near board level in a customer or service-orientated environment, ideally digital-focused but with a commercial angle with a deep appreciation for understanding customer needs.
  • Drive innovation with digital strategy experience in enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee operations in an organisation of comparable size and complexity to the UKHO.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A track record of successfully implementing changes in service delivery which significantly impact an organisation’s operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Experience of working at or near board level in a customer or service-orientated environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a board.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic leadership style combined with the ability to engage, influence and persuade at all levels and with diverse stakeholders.
