Job Summary

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is seeking a detail-oriented individual responsible for sourcing, pricing, soliciting, analyzing, composing, and processing purchase requests for materials, services, and supplies. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills to ensure compliance with the Arizona Procurement Code and departmental policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares purchase orders and coordinates with complex managers in the ordering of required commodities and services.
  • Purchases goods and services, solicits verbal and written quotations, and prepares purchase orders.
  • Researches commodity areas, specifications, and contractual terms to fulfill departmental requirements and composes bids/proposals and quotes.
  • Analyzes submitted proposals, seeks end user's input, and prepares an award recommendation for the approval process.
  • Researches new sources and maintains lists of vendors able to service departmental needs.
  • Corresponds with vendors for pricing, availability, and market trends.
  • Plans and participates in commodity surveys, analyzing results and takes necessary action.
  • Drives on state business.
  • Performs other duties as appropriate to the assignment.

Requirements
  • Maintains knowledge of the Arizona Procurement Code and statewide procurement software (Arizona Procurement Portal).
  • Understands departmental policies and procedures relating to purchasing.
  • Has strong purchasing business practices and procedures knowledge.
  • Proficient in mathematics and general accounting techniques.
  • Familiar with a wide variety of standard commodities and products.
  • Experienced in supply sourcing and local and national markets.
  • Able to professionally communicate with department staff and the public.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities and emergency orders.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in computers and purchasing business practices and procedures.
