About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated EAL Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As an EAL Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to students with English as an additional language, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote Inclusion: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the social and emotional well-being of all students.
  • Support Language Development: Collaborate with class teachers to identify and address the language development needs of students with EAL, providing targeted support to enhance their language proficiency.
  • Classroom Support: Provide practical classroom support, delivering small group interventions and working closely with subject teachers to ensure effective use of lesson materials.
  • Student Progress: Monitor students' progress, recording achievements and providing feedback to teachers and the SLT as required.
  • Pastoral Care: Contribute to the pastoral care of students, serving as a co-tutor for a form group and modelling positive behaviour.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong understanding of the needs of students with EAL.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
