About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated EAL Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As an EAL Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to students with English as an additional language, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote Inclusion: Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students, with a particular focus on those with EAL.
  • Support Language Development: Collaborate with class teachers to identify and address the language development needs of EAL students, providing targeted support to enhance their language proficiency.
  • Classroom Support: Provide practical support to students in lessons, delivering small group interventions to help them reach their academic goals.
  • Collaboration with Teachers: Work closely with subject teachers to ensure effective use of lesson materials, facilitating students' progress towards their target levels.
  • Whole School Strategies: Contribute to the development and implementation of whole school strategies to support EAL students, promoting their academic and social well-being.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong understanding of EAL student needs and the ability to provide targeted support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures.
