Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Deputy Engineering and Technical Lead to join our Engineering and Technical team within the Civil Works Program organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of all Enabling Works and Earthworks design on behalf of our client.

The Role:

As the Deputy Engineering and Technical Lead, you will oversee the execution of designs, ensuring successful outcomes for the CWP Enabling Works and Earthworks. This will involve assurance that design deliverables meet technical requirements, management of assurance review and stage gate process, and coordination with the Design Authority.

Your Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure design deliverables meet technical requirements and manage assurance review and stage gate process
  • Manage design production by the Design Supply Chain to ensure design deliverables are available to support delivery schedule
  • Coordinate and integrate Enabling Works & Earthworks design with design of other Portions including Main Civils Works, Ancillary Works and Marine & Tunnelling
  • Support Construction and Manufacturing Quality
  • Manage Engineering & Technical budget and associated resources related to enabling works & earthworks

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Civils and/or nuclear background in a relevant project, specifically in the earthworks sector
  • Degree educated within the relevant field
  • Sound understanding of UK's engineering practices & procedures
  • Clear understanding of design and engineering interfaces with construction teams, commissioning teams, supply chain and third parties
  • Significant leadership experience of ground engineering teams and major projects
  • Capacity to manage multidisciplinary teams in a large and complex project environment
