Investment Manager Oversight Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Manager Oversight Analyst to join our team at M&G plc. This role is a key part of our Investment Office, which is responsible for managing the legacy Pru UK's assets.

The Manager Oversight Team is a specialist Investment Due Diligence Team that conducts investment due diligence on all investment managers and selects new investment managers. This role is unique in that it focuses on covering a wide range of investment manager capabilities and ensuring that our due diligence is focused in the right areas.

You will work closely with the Manager Oversight Team and collaborate with other teams within the Investment Office while maintaining ongoing contact with all managers. This role offers the opportunity to join a growing team and become part of a brand with a global reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the overall investment due diligence effort, incorporating ESG and Sustainable Investment factors.
  • Build and maintain investment universes across major investment manager universes, with a focus on investment approach.
  • Identify top quartile propositions across all investment manager universes, by asset class and by investment approach.
  • Conduct ongoing detailed investment due diligence on top quartile propositions.
  • Conduct market and economic research to inform due diligence views.
  • Build expertise in certain asset class universes and enhance the investment due diligence effort.
  • Build strong investment manager relationships and provide support to distribution teams.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Strong experience in fund research/investment due diligence, with experience across major asset class groups.
  • CFA or equivalent qualification preferred but not required.
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English, with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and analyze financial information.
  • Proactive nature, with the ability to work with investment opportunities in new sectors or jurisdictions.
  • Ability to work in a small team environment with frequent and informal communication.
