Belfast, United Kingdom Arup Full time

Arup is a global firm that has been shaping a better world for over 75 years.

We are at the heart of emerging trends in transportation, helping authorities and network operators to invest for a different future while maintaining existing networks. This involves collaborating with local authorities, landowners, and stakeholders to find solutions that work for everyone.

This role involves working closely with Arup's project team and Fermanagh and Omagh District Council teams to implement the SLNCR Greenway in County Fermanagh. The position requires collaboration with colleagues from Leitrim and Sligo councils.

The fixed-term contract of two years will be based at the Fermanagh & Omagh District Council offices.

Job Description

This role involves:

  • Providing information to stakeholders on the SLNCR Greenway scheme proposal and development procedures;
  • Determining an optimal route through individual landholdings to minimize impacts on properties, whether farms, residences, or other types;
  • Informing stakeholders affected by the project regarding proposed land take, accommodation works, and statutory processes;
  • Evaluating the accuracy of land ownership records held by land and property services and confirming these records with stakeholders;
  • Serving as the primary point of contact in dealings between Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Arup, contractors, and affected stakeholders regarding access, service disruptions, and construction disturbances;
  • Assisting property valuation advisors and Local Authority legal teams in cases involving compulsory land acquisition compensation arbitration.

We are looking for individuals with:

  • A degree in a construction-related architectural/engineering discipline or equivalent qualification;
  • Experience in project liaison with stakeholders, particularly landowners, public bodies, businesses, and statutory authorities within the infrastructure sector;
  • Management, coordination, and delivery of construction projects to achieve high-quality outcomes and meet targets/deadlines;
  • Working knowledge of funded projects;
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations;
  • A current valid driving license and reliable transportation to perform job duties.

Candidates with AutoCAD proficiency will have an advantage.
