The successful candidate will report into the General Counsel & Compliance Officer and be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Volkswagen Group UK compliance management system.
The Compliance Counsel will provide timely and commercially relevant legal advice on compliance requirements and activities in the UK, escalating and reporting any compliance issues to the General Counsel and board of management. As part of a proactive Legal & Compliance function, the Compliance Counsel will play a key role in influencing compliance policies within our global Group landscape and collaborate with international colleagues to deliver best practice.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of the UK compliance plan and the rollout of the Global compliance programme within the UK.
- Support the business by providing timely, commercially astute advice on all matters of compliance.
- Develop subject matter expertise on Competition Law, Bribery and Corruption, Financial Conduct and Money Laundering.
- Lead the annual assessment of the UK business' key compliance risks and devise a programme of focus for each year.
- Design and manage compliance awareness training to educate the business on important topics.
- Significant experience of establishing and maintaining compliance programmes.
- Comprehensive skills in developing effective policies, procedures, training, and guidelines.
- Self-reliant and motivated with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
