Asthma Paediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paediatric Asthma Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic team delivering secondary and tertiary respiratory care in the region.

The successful candidate will provide specialist nursing advice and support to patients with asthma (in-patient and out-patient) and their family, throughout the care pathway, ensuring a seamless service for these patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver inhaler teaching, patient and family education, and provide Personalised Asthma Action Plans for all children with asthma.
  • Provide management advice, inhaler technique, and asthma education to families and staff on the medical wards or within the ED.
  • Administer injectable monoclonal antibody therapies for difficult asthma.
  • Engage and lead discussions in multidisciplinary team meetings.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in paediatric respiratory nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Requirements
  • Current NMC Registration
  • 1st Degree in nursing or health-related subject, willing to undertake/working towards
  • Qualification in Teaching and Assessing
  • Qualification/Short course in Asthma management
