A Senior Automation Specialist is sought by a Tyneside Engineering business to lead the delivery of SCADA / Control Systems solutions.

Working in a Projects team, you will be responsible for managing the entire project life-cycle of automation projects, including design, integration, testing, and commissioning.

Key responsibilities will involve interpreting clients' requirements, designing and engineering automation solutions, and interfacing with customers on all technical elements and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems in automation projects.
  • Producing specifications and drawings, and agreeing with customers.
  • Integrating and configuring software, hardware, communications, and external devices.
  • Driving projects to achieve timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Project engineering, configuration, integration, and testing.
  • Assisting in the preparation and approvals of bills of materials and manufacturing drawings.
  • Preparing project documentation, including design specifications and operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Participating in project meetings and assisting in the scheduling of activities.

Successful candidates will have a strong background in electrical or electronic engineering, with experience in automation systems and project delivery. Proven track records of delivering projects in the SCADA and Automation sectors are essential.

Requirements:

  • ONC/HNC in Electrical / Electronic / Software Engineering or related subject.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects in the SCADA and Automation sectors.
  • Knowledge of communications systems and SCADA protocols.
  • Experience of implementation using PLC logic.
  • Experience of configuration of HMI software.
  • Ability to work independently and within a small team environment.
  • Excellent internal and external communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
