About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Vacancies. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, disabilities, and health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist subject teachers in meeting students' needs by working with individuals or groups of students on a planned basis
  • Pass on information about students gathered in other contexts to the subject teacher
  • Work with students who have SEN, disabilities, and/or health needs
  • Provide personal care and support students who require it
  • Act as an extension of the School's pastoral system by providing a listening ear and general support for students

Our SEND team is made up of a SENDCo, Assistant SENDCo, administrative staff, and a team of LSAs. We have a strong focus on supporting students with complex needs and providing a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant is preferred
  • A positive attitude and calm manner with the ability to communicate well with others
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children, the needs of children, and child development
  • Ability to work with students who have SEN, disabilities, and/or health needs
