About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Ward Sister to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our surgical care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the care of patients on the Acute Surgical Admissions Ward
  • Lead and develop a team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
  • Develop and implement effective patient care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
  • Ensure the smooth running of the ward, including managing bed flow and rostering
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and experience
Person Specification
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience of working in a surgical ward or similar setting
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
