Consultant Psychiatrist Opportunity in CAMHS

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Lancaster and Morecambe CAMHS Team. As a leading member of our well-established community children and young people's mental health service, you will provide input to your team and support emergency assessments at the local district general hospital.

The postholder will participate on the Consultant On Call rota, for which additional remuneration will be payable. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and interests in a flexible way, with a study leave budget of £3000 over 3 years or up to £5000 over 3 years for newly qualified Consultants.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality clinical care to children and young people with mental health needs
  • Supporting emergency assessments and providing input to the CAMHS team
  • Participating in the Consultant On Call rota and providing out-of-hours cover
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals
  • Contributing to the development of the CAMHS service and improving patient outcomes
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • Full GMC registration and Licence to Practise
  • On GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months
  • Section 12 approved or within 3 months
  • AC status or within 3 months
